Frequently asked questions

Complicated situations can bring up many questions. Here are a few of our answers:

What does Maven Prevention Partners do?

Maven Prevention Partners helps organizations assess, manage, and respond to individuals whose behavior has raised concerns about safety, violence, stalking, fixation, harassment, or disruptive conduct. We provide threat assessment consultation, threat management planning, case management recommendations, training, and organizational program development to help clients reduce risk and improve safety.

What is threat management?

Threat management is the process of identifying, assessing, and managing individuals whose behaviors indicate a potential risk of harm to themselves or others. Rather than focusing solely on prediction, threat management emphasizes early intervention, coordinated response, ongoing monitoring, and practical strategies to reduce risk and support positive outcomes.

Who do you work with?

We work with municipalities, schools, colleges and universities, healthcare organizations, corporations, faith-based organizations, nonprofit agencies, and private entities. Our services are tailored to the needs of each organization and the unique circumstances of each case.

What types of situations can you help with?

We assist with workplace violence concerns, threatening communications, stalking behaviors, fixated individuals, school threats, concerning social media activity, targeted violence concerns, employee misconduct involving threats, grievance-driven behavior, and individuals who repeatedly come to the attention of organizations due to disruptive or concerning conduct.

What happens after I contact Maven Prevention Partners?

We begin with an initial consultation to understand the situation, review available information, and determine the level of support needed. Depending on the circumstances, we may provide immediate recommendations, conduct a formal threat assessment, facilitate a multidisciplinary case review, or develop a comprehensive threat management plan.

Do you provide emergency or crisis response services?

Maven Prevention Partners is not a law enforcement agency, emergency service, or crisis hotline. If there is an immediate threat to life or safety, clients should contact 911 or their local emergency services. We provide consultation and planning support before, during, and after critical incidents to assist organizations in making informed decisions.

Are your services confidential?

Yes. We understand that threat assessment and management cases often involve sensitive information. We maintain strict confidentiality practices and utilize secure systems for communication, documentation, and information storage. Information is handled in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.

Can you help our organization build a threat assessment program?

Absolutely. We help organizations establish Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) programs, develop policies and procedures, train multidisciplinary teams, create case management workflows, and implement best practices based on nationally recognized threat assessment principles. Our goal is to help organizations build sustainable systems that improve safety and resilience.
